| Bio: | I've been a peruser of Live Journal for a few years, and only recently have branched out to trying to post. Do "normal" 30-something females of the "professional world" partake in this stuff? I have found some new friends here who reply with a resounding "yes!" Besides, I may not really fit into that category of "normal", anyhow. Located in the midwest, I'm a homebody most of the time - preferring short trips to visit family and friends but not staying away too long. I teach early childhood special education - specifically, speech-language pathology, in which I hold a Master's degree. I have an overwhelming interest in sensory processing disorders and how sensory integration affects development. I am dedicated to providing lots of sensory integration in my therapy sessions. I love to eat at Panera Bread and hang out at Barnes and Noble or Borders on Friday evenings. My husband and I have two "fur-babies" who are spoiled rotten, Munchie the cat and Nikki the dog. Nikki is as insanely driven to exercise each morning as me, and keeps me motivated to run daily. Most days. Munchie, not so much, but she loves to sit out on the back deck with me. I am a dreamer, hopeful-romantic, and optimist. But, I've been hurt. A lot. We have lost a child, our daughter, Bryna. We know what grief is. I've learned I am stronger than people may give me credit for, and sometimes, more than I give myself. It's a choice to get up each day and try again. Some days are easier than others. My first love is performance, but I generally live in the real world--most of the time--and feed this need through dabbling in dinner theater. I am an alum of the 1996 Colts Drum and Bugle Corps. I love music, movies, reading, scrapbooking, writing, and chatting. I adore Clay Aiken and have forever been a fan of superheroes. Clark Kent is a doll.
